Depending on where you live, you are probably pulling out your fall clothes and enjoying the cooler weather. If you are here in Texas….. well….. sorry. It’s gonna be a few more weeks! But that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start picking some new trends to try for the season. There are so many great things happening this season, but we managed to narrow it down to our 5 favorite trends to try.

2015 Fall Trends - Ankle boots

1. Lucky Boomer Boot (in Brindle) | 2. Steve Madden Daimiannn Boots (in Grey Leather) | 3. Nine West Sherbert Leather Boot (in Black)

Chances are you already have boots in your fall/winter wardrobe. But do you have ankle boots? We cannot recommend them enough! There are a million styles and shapes for every height and leg. Try on a few pairs and find what you love. You can go casual with a flat bootie, or go for something dressier with a heel.

SKINNY SCARVES

Keeping up with the 70's trend, skinny scarves were heavily featured on the runways. But you don't need a $500 Hermes scarf to dig this trend. We found some affordable options below!

2015 Fall Trends - Skinny scarves

1. Slim Charcoal Silk Chiffon Scarf by Royal Silk | 2. Jules Smith Polka Dot Skinny Wrap Scarf | 3. Cate Chestnut Handmade Bamboo Skinny Blue Scarf

In stark contrast to the over-sized infinity scarves and ponchos that have been in vogue in the past fall seasons, skinny scarves are all the rage right now. Try one in a bright color or fun pattern to liven up your look.  And don’t be afraid to experiment with different textures, like the Bamboo Blue Skinny Scarf featured above.

CLASSIC STRIPES

2015 Fall Trends - Stripes

1. Calvin Klein Striped Pencil Skirt | 2. Metallic Blue Striped Clutch | 3. Notations 3/4 Sleeve Roll Tab Striped Y-Neck Blouse (in Claret Bench)

Don’t listen to any of those fashion rules; stripes (even horizontal ones) are for everyone!  Stripes are a classic and infallible pattern that is easy on the eyes, while still adding dimension to your outfit.  Pick up a simple black & white striped pencil skirt for a work-friendly look.  A striped metallic clutch is the perfect way to take the trend into the nighttime.  Finally, a basic button down gets a boost with stripes.

2015 Fall Trends - Long Pendant Necklaces

1. Water Drop Turquoise Alloy Pendant Multi-layer Necklace | 2. Kenneth Cole New York Woven Faceted Bead Long Pendant Necklace | 3. Humble Chic  Filigree Leaf Necklace (in Gold)

Chokers had a moment last season, but this fall & winter, it’s all about the long pendant necklace. This necklace makes the perfect topper for a classic outfit like a crisp white shirt & blazer.  Try pairing one with 2 or more necklaces of varying lengths for an edgier look.

WOOL HATS

Last month we featured fashion blogger J, from J’s Everyday Fashion, who also lists the wool hat as a must-try trend this fall.

2015 Fall Trends - Wool Hats

1. Vintage Inspired Wool Floppy Winter Hat (in Black) | 2. Diva Style Wide Brim Wool Floppy Hat (in Camel) | 3. Soft Wool Wide Brim Cloche Fedora (in Wine Red)

These retro-inspired hats are back with a vengeance! We love the classic look of camel, black and brown, but grab one in marsala, red, or cobalt blue to add a pop of color for a fun fall look!
